The two selected images are saved in 2000px × 1250px resolution in RGB format. Each of these images is broken down into its RGB colour channels. This results in six images: Hysteria-red, Hysteria-green, Hysteria-blue, Catastrophe-red, Catastrophe-green, Catastrophe-blue. From these, the following new images are created using the combinations:
- Hysteria-red + Catastrophe-green + Catastrophe-blue
- Hysteria-green+Catastrophe-red+Catastrophe-blue
- Hysteria-blue+Catastrophe-red+Catastrophe-green
- Catastrophe-red + Hysteria-green + Hysteria-blue
- Catastrophe-green + Hysteria-red + Hysteria-blue
- Catastrophe-blue + Hysteria-red + Hysteria-green
These are combined to form a single work.
Concept

An image of mass hysteria (some might call it enthusiasm) and an image of the impact of human activity on our planet are each blended together.
Idea
(08/26)
We, the children of the 1980s, grew up with a strong inclination towards individualism. Being just like everyone else was the worst thing that could happen to you. Today, as a society, we have reached the opposite extreme. In times of resource scarcity and a climate catastrophe that is becoming a reality, I am utterly baffled by the mass gatherings of enthusiastic people who do things en masse, supposedly simply because everyone else is already doing them. In the process, any form of reflection is negated. In this series, I aim to bring together cause and effect, or at least to illustrate the absurdity of these two parallel realities.
