Tiles

Number

Hamlet contains 1148 text blocks according to the general set of rules (1138 speaker-based and 10 blocks created by division, as the text contains more than 34 lines). The number of tiles of the work is determined (due to the defined quadratic work) by the root of the text blocks rounded up to an integer. This results in 34 x 324 = 1156 tiles. The resulting 8 tiles not occupied by text are created with the basic colour of the work 255-255-0 and inserted every 144 tiles, beginning at the 74th position.

Text Alignment

The alignment of the tiles according to the rulebook Rulebook of William Shakespeare's Plays is as followes

  • centre-centre 19%
  • centre-left 9%
  • centre-right 8%
  • top-centre 14%
