Since my visit to the exhibition Westkunst "1981, the large exhibition "Westkunst - contemporary art since 1939" took place in the Cologne exhibition hall. The aim of the exhibition was, among other things, to "return contemporary art to its origins" and to reveal the "continuity and contradictions" of artistic designs...." from"In 1981, the exhibition preoccupies me with the colour blue. Blue is the colour of the depth of the seas and the colour of the sky. How can one do justice to the colour.
I have made several attempts to approach the subject since the 1980s, and the idea of lasted abstractions will also be devoted to this subject. I was never satisfied, most of the attempts did not survive various moves.

CONCEPT

(90s)
One attempt is to serve as an example for the approaches.
The concept was to draw circular sections around five centres until the entire canvas is filled and no white space is visible. The colours were different shades of light blue, which are not glazed, but tinted, opaque.

• circles were drawn with guide lines
• circle segments painted in free arrangement

the painting was finished before the goal of completely filling the canvas was reached.
