Since my visit to the exhibition Westkunst1
in 1981 I have been preoccupied with the colour blue. Blue is the colour of the depth of the seas and the colour of the sky. How can one do justice to this colour.
I have made several attempts to approach the subject since the 1980s, and the idea of glazed abstracts will also be devoted to this subject. I was never satisfied, most of the attempts did not survive various moves.

One attempt is to serve as an example for the approaches.
The concept was to draw circular sections around five centres until the entire canvas is filled and no white space is visible. The colours were different shades of light blue, which are not glazed, but tinted, opaque.

the painting was finished before the goal of completely filling the canvas was reached.
